Stainless steel is some amazing stuff. It’s sleek and attractive, low-maintenance, and rust resistant. Little wonder stainless steel has become the popular choice in kitchens and bathrooms. But contrary to its name, stainless steel sinks and appliances can get, well… stained. Dirt, grease, soap scum, water stains, and fingerprints are not only unsightly, they make stainless steel prone to rust and corrosion. And on top of that, harsh cleaning products can scratch and dull stainless steel. Fortunately, Soft Scrub Multi-Surface Gel is gentle enough for stainless steel while tough enough to banish dirt, grease, and grime.
When your stainless steel is dirty or stained, simply apply Multi-Surface Gel and wipe it away with a nylon scrubber or microfiber cloth labeled “non-scratch.” (Steel wool or harsh bristles will damage the finish of stainless steel). When cleaning your stainless dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, microwave or other appliance remember this tip: stainless steel has a grain, just like wood. For best results wipe in the same direction as the faint striations, or grooves, in the steel. Wiping across the grain will deposit grime and residue into the tiny crevices.
Be sure to dry thoroughly when done, again, wiping with the grain. This is important since water drops can leave mineral stains. Once your surface is clean, a little regular maintenance is the key. A quick wipe with Multi-Surface after dinner every night will prevent hard-to-remove spots and stains from tarnishing your stainless steel.
Multi-Surface can also be used to clean and polish glass cooktops, tiles, faucets, and marble and granite countertops – and don’t forget about your outdoor grill. Multi-Surface will cut through the grease and wipe away the grime left behind by grilled burgers and steaks. Apply it, wipe it off, and fire up the grill for dinner.
